Surja Automotive Private Limited was founded on 1 August 2022 to build dependable vehicles that suit how India moves people and goods.
An Indian vehicle maker, built step by step
Surja takes its name from the sun: a daily, dependable source of energy for everyone. That is what we want our vehicles to be for the people who use them to earn a living.
We began with research and development. We designed three vehicles for three jobs, built prototypes and tested them across every parameter and every kind of road: crowded city streets, broken rural roads, steep gradients, monsoon rain and summer heat.
In September 2025 all three variants, Vira, Dheera and Dheera+, completed testing and certification at ARAI, Pune. Production and sales started soon after, and Surja vehicles are now working for their owners.
